New appointments at NEPO
NEPO has appointed four new roles as part of its revitalised strategy to drive growth and progress through collaborative procurement.
Marie Perriam and Laura Kyle have been promoted to the roles of Energy Lead and Construction Lead respectively.
Both Marie and Laura joined NEPO following completion of an apprenticeship scheme and progressed their procurement careers, working their way from Procurement Officers to their new senior roles.
Their promotion will see them take on strategic responsibility for NEPO’s energy and construction categories, with a combined annual value of approximately £340m.
Also joining the NEPO team are Jane Turner and Sarah Brown, who together bring over 30 years of procurement experience to the organisation.
Jane Turner joins NEPO from PD Ports where she was Sourcing Manager, and prior to that she worked as Senior Procurement Officer at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for over a decade. Her new role as Procurement Specialist will see her work alongside Laura in the construction team.
Sarah Brown joins NEPO as Procurement Specialist, responsible for the fleet category. Sarah was previously Procurement Advisor at Karbon Homes, and kicks off her career at NEPO leading the procurement of a regional framework for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Nicola Shelley, Managing Director at NEPO, said:
“I am delighted to welcome our new colleagues to the NEPO team, both Jane and Sarah bring a wealth of experience that will help us move forward with our ambitious strategy.
“As Marie and Laura’s well-deserved promotions demonstrate, procurement is a rewarding career path that incorporates professional development and recognises talent. The next three years will see significant developments in public sector construction and energy, as the levelling-up and climate action agendas continue to take centre stage. The creation of these new roles will help the North East public sector seize opportunities and deliver for the communities we serve.”
