Open Platform Surpasses Supplier Targets

The Open team

Following a successful launch, the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) has announced that its Open procurement platform has exceeded initial target registration figures for 2024, demonstrating keen interest from the suppliers.

The new platform, which aims to streamline the procurement process, enhance transparency and aid accessibility for local suppliers, has reached the huge milestone of signing up over 10,000 suppliers.  This has exceeded the initial target of over 9,000 registrations.

In addition, over three hundred live projects have been created on Open, servicing the social care, facilities management, financial services and professional service sectors, across the Northeast region.

In October last year, NEPO reported that all twelve North East Authorities had made the move to transition to the platform to streamline facilitation of projects across the region and service all the business community, the voluntary community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Registration to the platform is free and can be completed online, providing access to procurement opportunities with businesses and North East local authorities.
